Claim My Home on Zillow

What does it mean to claim your home on Zillow? It means finding your house on Zillow, proving that you own the house, and claiming it as yours.

Why do you want to claim your home on Zillow? Well, YOU own it! It’s YOUR stake to claim.  Plus it can help your Zestimate be more accurate and help prevent your home from showing up online as part of a rental scam.  This is one of those tasks that might sound silly, but it’s actually important and could make a difference when you go to sell your home in the future so take 2 minutes to do it today!

Here is how to claim your home on Zillow:
To claim ownership of your home’s property page, please follow the steps below:
1. Log in to your Zillow profile. If you are not registered, create a free Zillow profile by clicking here.
2. Navigate to your home’s property page by typing the address in the search line.
3. Under the More drop-down tab, click Claim ownership.
4. On the following page, verify your ownership by answering a few questions.
5. Review and agree to the Zillow Terms of Use.
6. The home will appear in your My Zillow profile under My homes.

To unclaim or release ownership of your home’s property page, please follow the steps below:
1. Log in to your Zillow profile.
2. Navigate to your home’s property page.
3. Under the More drop-down tab, please click Release Ownership Claim.
4. Select the reason you are releasing your ownership claim and click Submit.
5. The home will no longer appear in your My Zillow profile under My homes.

On occasion, I like to take a look at my home on Zillow and make any changes – especially any updates – that will be beneficial when I sell in the future, no matter how far that might seem!
